DESCRIPTION:The focus in the Advanced Fair Housing class is to go beyond th
 e protected classes and examine all facets of the requirements and subtle 
 nuances of Fair Housing Laws. Emphasis is on the complex areas of Accommod
 ation and Modification\, Disabilities (permanent and temporary)\, Tenant R
 etaliation\, and Responding To Complaints\, and Risk Management.\n\nThe cl
 ass features extensive testing on real case scenarios that have occurred i
 nvolving the accommodation and modification requirements under Fair Housin
 g\, showing how they were handled and how they should be handled. Other ar
 eas of focus include:\n\n 	The distinction between accommodations and modi
 fications and who has to pay the costs for these requests\n 	An understand
 ing that even simple fees can be challenged in specific instances as part 
 of a reasonable accommodation request\n 	The differences between an assist
 ive animal and a companion animal and how to handle these requests so as n
 ot to run into a Fair Housing violation\n 	What can happen if a Fair Housi
 ng complaint is filed against you and what your liabilities could be as we
 ll as what to do if you receive a notice from the CCRD (Colorado Civil Rig
 hts Division) or HUD\n\nParticipants should have attended a Basic Fair Hou
 sing Class or have extensive practical knowledge and experience with Fair
